Uriah Heep is the villain of David Copperfield. He is one of the well-known characters of Charles Dickens. Uriah Heep was the clerk of Wickfield. He plans over a plot to seize the property of his employer Mr Wickfield. He is black-hearted and mischievous. He studies the books of law to serve his evil purpose and to become eminent in the legal profession but he uses all his knowledge of law for his selfish aim of getting complete control over Wickfield's business. He is not happy with the presence of David Copperfield in the house of Mr Wickfield. He flatters and always claims to humble persons but his all acts are just opposite. At the end, he does not get any success in his plan. He is caught red-handed and sent to prison. David first meets Uriah Heep at his house. At that time, he was a mere boy of fifteen(15) but he looked much older. His face was cadaverous and he had no eyebrows or eyelashes. He had a white face, red hair, red-brown eyes, high shoulders, long and thin hands. At the very first sight, David Copperfield understood that Uriah Heep was a crooked fellow. When Uriah Heep put his hand upon David Copperfield's shoulder. David Copperfield felt he was as ghosty to touch as to the sight.
