"A Child is Born" has been written by Germaine Greer(1939). She was one of the greatest writers of her time. She wrote many stories and essays. This is one of them. She has explained the birth of a child.
According to Germaine Greer, There are many ways—Some of them are different from one-another. A woman who follows tradition and culture. Her wishes will be fulfilled successfully. She will always feel good. Some educated women believe in superstition(सुप्स्टिशन). They take the help of unscientific, which is really bad. The method of old delivery is also harmful. If a child is dead due to a mother. It is mostly seen in old delivery(प्रस्व).
There is a good example of Bangladesh. If a woman's parents are alive, then she goes to her mother's house for the last few months of her Pregnancy and remains there. She gets a lot of love and care. Under-five and six years children do not play with toys(टोएज). They play with natural objects.

जर्मन ग्रीर के अनुसार, कई तरीके हैं- उनमें से कुछ एक-दूसरे से भिन्न हैं। एक महिला जो परंपरा और संस्कृति का पालन करती है। उसकी इच्छाएँ सफलतापूर्वक पूरी होंगी। वह हमेशा अच्छा महसूस करेगी। कुछ पढ़ी-लिखी महिलाएं अंधविश्वास (सुप्स्टिशन) में विश्वास करती हैं। वे अवैज्ञानिकता की मदद लेती हैं, जो वास्तव में बुरा है। पुरानी डिलीवरी का तरीका भी हानिकारक है। अगर माँ की वजह से कोई बच्चा मरता है तो यह ज्यादातर पुरानी डिलीवरी (प्रवास) में देखा जाता है।
बांग्लादेश का एक अच्छा उदाहरण है। यदि किसी महिला के माता-पिता जीवित हैं, तो वह अपनी गर्भावस्था के अंतिम कुछ महीनों के लिए अपनी माँ के घर जाती है और वहीं रहती है। वहाँ उसे बहुत प्यार और देखभाल मिलती है। पांच और छह साल से कम उम्र के बच्चे खिलौने (टोएज) के साथ नहीं खेलते हैं बल्कि वे प्राकृतिक वस्तुओं के साथ खेलते हैं। अत: इस निबंध की मदद से, उन्होने सारी माताओं को प्रेरित किया है।
